Discover how Pams Japan is preserving the legacy of Kawasaki’s legendary air-cooled Z motorcycles through expert restoration, precision engineering, and innovative performance upgrades.

For enthusiasts of classic air-cooled Z motorcycles, maintaining performance, reliability, and authenticity requires specialist knowledge and experience. Pams Japan has built a reputation as a dedicated expert in air-cooled Z general maintenance, repair, and inspection, helping owners keep these iconic machines on the road for generations to come.

Beyond maintenance services, Pams offers parts manufacturing and sales, vehicle and parts import and export, vehicle sales and customisation, as well as original and OEM parts design, development, and manufacturing. Their expertise also extends to frame measurements and electrical system maintenance, ensuring every aspect of a motorcycle is properly cared for.

Pams provides a comprehensive range of restoration services, from functional restorations such as engine overhauls and frame repairs to complete, ground-up restorations that return a motorcycle to like-new condition. Every project is tailored to the owner’s vision, whether that means recreating a bike’s former glory or preserving its original appearance while restoring its performance and reliability.

Where legendary motorcycles are restored, refined, and re-engineered.

With air-cooled Z motorcycles now more than 40 years old, and even the newest models over 30 years old, each machine has its own history and significance. Pams works closely with owners to understand their goals and bring their ideal vision of an air-cooled Z to life through efficient, high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

A recent example of Pams‘ engineering and customisation expertise is the latest Kuromame project. Currently on display at Daikanyama TSUTAYA in Tokyo, the motorcycle showcases a newly developed stainless-steel (SUS) exhaust system and a custom-configured AT Power throttle setup paired with a Hayabusa engine.

The build also features a modern PAMS electronic fuel injection system, bringing contemporary performance and reliability to a classic Kawasaki Z-series platform. Complementing the package are high-performance forged pistons from Piston Pistol, designed to enhance durability and engine performance. This type of build has become a popular modification among vintage Kawasaki Z1 and KZ enthusiasts, often referred to as a “restomod” combining the timeless styling of the original motorcycle with carefully integrated modern engineering upgrades.

The Kuromame project perfectly demonstrates Pams‘ approach to motorcycle restoration and customisation: respecting the heritage of the legendary air-cooled Z while embracing innovative technologies that improve performance, rideability, and long-term reliability.
