After extensive modifications with AT Power’s product and fine-tuning, the car is now performing flawlessly at the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) test track.
Johnnie replaced the vintage performance twin Mikuni 44 PHH Type S5 carburettors with a cutting-edge AT Power twin-housed DCOE assembly for his high compression 22R powered 1973 Toyota RA21 Celica. This new setup includes a split fuel rail for a unique appearance and better fuel delivery, sleek mesh trumpets for improved airflow and power, and an anodized blue finish for durability and a stunning aesthetic.
Despite owning the Celica for over 20 years, Johnnie recently upgraded his intake system with AT Power Motorsport’s ITG Air Sausage Filters. To ensure a perfect fit, he custom-built a carbon fibre backplate, allowing the throttle cable to pass through seamlessly. Now, with the new setup in place, Johnnie admits, “I finally have a quality filter system!”

“I can not express enough how satisfied I am with the fit, finish, and quality of these DCOE Shaftless Throttle Bodies. There is no compromise in function or form!”

With rough tuning progressing well, the Celica is delivering exceptional performance and responsiveness even before hitting the dyno – a testament to the successful EFI modifications and precise setup.
